Its beginnings date back to the Roman period, though it can be said that the historic centre is the result of a Muslim settlement.

Architectural remains, archaeological vestiges and testimonies by chronicles and travellers from the 12th century onwards converge. It is from this century that Marbella began its development to the north with calle Ancha. One century later it spread to the east with Barrio Nuevo, around what is now calle Málaga. This is where Cruz del Humilladero is located. Puerto Banus

Probably the most famous port in all of Spain. The place to be in the 80's and 80's, and still very popular especially for shopping and dining. His encounter with Noldi Schreck, architect and designer of the legendary neighbourhood of Beverly Hills, had prompted in the entrepreneur the vision of a more ambitious, exclusive project with an international vision.

Puerto Banús was founded upon the concept of a Mediterranean village in the Andalusia style, with luxurious avenues adorned with colourful gardens bathed by the sea. The inauguration of the complex took place in 1970, with more than 1500 invited guests. Among them, were members of Spanish royalty, Prince Rainier and Princess Grace of Monaco as guests of honour, and an extremely young Julio Iglesias who delighted those present with his music.
